William R. Venneri, 94, of Monongahela, formerly of Monessen, Stockdale and Belle Vernon, died, Sunday, November 16, 2014 in The Residence at Hilltop.
He was born May 16, 1920 in Monessen, a son of the late Nick Venneri and the late Maria Salvino Venneri.
A 1939 graduate of Monessen High School, Bill worked as a production worker in the Automatic Department of Corning Glass where he retired after 43 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and his extended family and many friends. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church in Monessen, Knights of Columbus 954 Monessen, Epiphany Choir and participated in St. Vincent College Retreats.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Carole Lane, Gloria (Tom) Riley, Ralph (Doris) Salvino, Betty Salvino, Madeline "Chickie" (Jim) Barron, Donna Jean Salvino, Bernard Venneri, Geraldine Molinatto, Maria Cosner and Robert (Karen) Cosner; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joseph (Augustine) Venneri, Frank (Lena) Venneri and Davis "Dave" (Leona) Venneri; 3 sisters, Freda (Angelo) Molinatto, Theresa "Nini" (Tony) Salvino and Adeline (Andrew) Cosner; nieces and nephews, Agnes Molinatto, Darwin Venneri, John Molinatto, Joe Salvino and Jim Salvino.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen (724-684-8750) where a Blessing Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Fr. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The Knights of Columbus 954 Monessen will hold a service in the funeral home 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
