Victor A. Howski, 96, of Monessen, died Saturday Oct. 22, 2016 at his home. He was born on September 5, 1920 in Monessen, the son of the late John Kwiatkowski and Mary Ann (Popkowski) Kwiatkowski. Victor was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, and a life member of the PNA. He had worked for American Chain and Cable, Page Division in Monessen until their closure and then worked doing home remodeling. Victor was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army's Battery C 244th Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. Surviving are his two daughters, Christine Scirotto, Karen Holmes; five grandchildren, Thomas Scirotto, Dr. James Scirotto, Nicole Scirotto, Jason Holmes, and Shontay (General) Butler; five great grandchildren, Keith, Kendall, Jayden, Legacy, and Baby G; two sisters, Katherine Strodoski and Harriet Cadwallder; and by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Chester, Walter, Edmund, and Anthony Howski, Leonard Kwaitkowski, and by two sisters Virginia Cristy and Laura Hammerash. Friends will be received on Thursday Oct. 27, 2016 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. A Blessing Service will be held at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church 618 Knox Ave. Monessen, with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating.
