Vera T. Mahalko, 81, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc..She was born in Monessen on June 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Santo and Maria (Pignotti) D'Annibale. Vera was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Catholic B.P.W., a former member of Epiphany Ladies, and attended the Monessen Senior Center. Before retiring, Vera had been employed at Charland Sportswear in Speers, and later worked at the Mon Valley Health Center for SPHS.Vera enjoy watching football games, game shows, and caring for her pet cats.She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Fedorchak of Littlestown, PA, a son and daughter-in-law, William and Debbie Mahalko Jr. of Perryopolis, two grandchildren, Bill and Mia Mahalko of Perryopolis, two sisters, Jean Falbo of Michigan City, IN, Mary Jane D'Annibale of Monroeville, and by several nieces and nephews and their families.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Mahalko Sr., and by a sister Lee Loulis.Friends will be received on Thursday Dec. 29th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church.
