Shirley M. Magnone, 73, of Monessen, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at her residence.She was born in Smithfield, PA on March 7, 1936, the daughter of the late George Rodgers Sr. and Alberta Layhue Rodgers. Shirley was a resident of Monessen most all her life and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. She was an avid duck pin bowler years ago having bowled at the former Park Casino Lanes in Monessen.She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William A. Magnone Sr., two sons and daughters-in-law, William A. Magnone Jr. and wife Linda and Larry K. Magnone and wife Hope, all of Monessen, two daughters, Rochelle Magnone at home, and Michelle Magnone of Greensburg, a brother, George Rodgers of Monessen, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Phillip Herd of Monessen, Lena and Victor Oravec of Charleroi, a granddaughter, Nicole Magnone and friend Matt Mick of Pittsburgh, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Rodgers, and a sister-in-law Paula Zaglauer Rodgers.Friends will be received on Monday Jan. 4, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
