Sal Panepinto, 70, of Belle Vernon, former of Monongahela, died suddenly Friday, July 4, 2008 in St. Joseph Hospital, Buffalo, NY.He was born in N. Charleroi on November 19, 1937, the son of the late Anthony and Christina Chimento Panepinto. Sal grew up in Monessen and was a 1955 graduate of Monessen High School. Sal attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne Law School. He began his career as a Public Defender for Washington County, then served as a law clerk for Judge Simmons in the Federal Court System, and operated a private law practice in Charleroi and Pittsburgh. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church in Monessen, and a former member of Transfiguration Parish in Monongahela. He was also a member of the Allegheny County and Washington County Bar Associations, and the Sons of Italy. Sal served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961.He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marie Faraci Panepinto, two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Jennifer Panepinto of Cincinnati, OH, John and Amberly Panepinto of Buffalo, NY, two grandchildren, Dominic and Giovanna Panepinto, two sisters, Virginia Crea of Cary, NC, Antionette Semich of Belle Vernon, and by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Tuesday July 8, 2008, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
