Robert A. Mascetta, 92, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 2, 1930 in Monessen, the son of the late Frank and Marianna (Carrozza) Mascetta. He served our country during the Korean War in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was a member of Epiphany of our Lord Church, The Holy Name Society, Monessen Knights of Columbus 954, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, Teamsters Union Local #872, American Legion Post #28 and Mid Mon Valley Shipmates. He was employed by the Page Division of American Chain and Cable and Fox Grocery. Bob and Bev were world travelers, ballroom dancers and enjoyed attending numerous Italian festivals. He was a gifted carpenter, winemaker, an avid sports fan and loved all things Navy. Most of all family came first. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Beverly (Schivley) Mascetta, daughters, Valerie (Steve) Beck and Lynn (George) Josay of Monessen; grandson, Billy Christopher Josay; granddaughters, Ashley (Rob) Zullo and Wendy (Brett) May; great grandchildren Anthony Moses, John Rocco and Bria Josay and Cameron Robert Zullo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Sue Schivley and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Nicholas, Anthony, Riccardo and Sue Mascetta. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Friends will be received Monday, September 18, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will begin on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 with a blessing service at 9:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at the Epiphany of our Lord Church beginning at 10:00 am, with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery.
