Richard J. Dziak, 61, of Monessen, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Mon Valley Care Center.
He was born in N. Charleroi on September 24, 1952, the son of John Dziak of Monessen and the late Pauline Brassart Dziak. Rick was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1970 graduate of Monessen High School. He had worked at the former Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel until it closed, and then for Power Piping in Donora until becoming disabled.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sara (Dalfonso) Dziak, two daughters, Jessica M. Dziak of Fredericksburg, VA, Alison M. Dziak of Monessen, a son, Jared R. Dziak of Monessen, two brothers, Mark (Debbie) Dziak of Perryopolis, Dr. Daniel A. (Karen Pesich) Dziak of Mt. Lebanon, a sister, Denise McCullough of Donora, his mother-in-law, Ida Dalfonso of Monessen, a brother-in-law, Joseph A. (Donna) Dalfonso of Monessen, aunts, an uncle, nephews, and a niece.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Samuel Dalfonso.
Friends will be received on Sunday May 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
