Raymond P. Bennett, 79, of Monessen, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Westmoreland Manor.He was born in Monessen on September 9, 1932, the son of the late Michael and Anna Dudas Bennett. Ray was a life long resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. He was an active member of the Ravens A. A., having served as a member of the Board of Directors. He was retired from the former Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, having worked in the coke plant as a crane men. Ray was an avid bowling and enjoyed golfing.He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Porretto, a grandson, Matthew William Porretto, a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Crabb, all of Monessen, two brothers, Michael Bennett of Florida, Alfred "Al" (Patricia) Bennett of Monessen, two sisters-in-law, Jenny Austin and Olivia (Angelo) Pro, all of Monessen, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Viola "Vi" Marie (Perozzi) Bennett, a son William Kyle, and by two sisters Marlene Ezzo and Pauline Kopko.Friends will be received on Saturday (April 7th) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION ON EASTER SUNDAY. Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012, beginning with 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church.
