Ralph A. Ostetrico, 82, of Rostraver Twp., died Monday, August 12, 2013 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.
He was born in Monessen on June 12, 1931, the son of the late Giulio Ostetrico and Philomena Mosco Ostetrico. Ralph grew up in Monessen and was a 1950 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monongahela Valley Country Club, and a former member of Elks Lodge 733, Monessen. He retired with over 30 years of service from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, having worked in the Four High temper mill.
In earlier years, Ralph was an avid trap shooter belonging to Charleroi Sportsmen's and Roscoe Gun Club. He also enjoyed many years of boating on the Mon on his houseboat and golfing with friends in the Monessen Elks Golf League. His proudest accomplishment was raising his three children whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deborah Fredrick Ostetrico, a daughter, Sandy Todaro of Belle Vernon, a son, Mark Ostetrico and fiancé Kelly Vagnoni of Belle Vernon, a sister, Gloria Jean Astle of Monessen, two grandchildren, Allison (Walt) Crumpler of Mesa, AZ, Isaac (Beth) Daniele of Pittsburgh, four great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Patricia Ostetrico of Carroll Twp., two brothers-in-law, David (Suzanne) Fredrick of Atlanta, GA, Robert (Debra) Fredrick of Charleroi, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by his four legged, constant companion, Gabrielle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Daniele, and by a brother, Giustino "Gust" Ostetrico.
Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Wed. Aug. 14th from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday Aug. 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp.
