Pietro P. Carozza, 93, of Monessen, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Southwestern Nursing and Rehab Center, West Mifflin.He was born in Palena, Italy on May 6, 1918, the son of the late Camillo and Josephine Carozza. Mr. Carozza grew-up in Italy and served in the Italian Army during World War II. He came to the United States and has been a resident of Monessen since 1956. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and the Construction Laborers Union Local 1058. Mr. Carozza worked for Westmoreland Paving and Burrell Construction Company, retiring in 1980. After retiring, he worked part time for Ciotti Contracting.He is survived by a son, Camillo Carozza of Speers, two daughters, Antonette Ezzo and Josephine Carozza, both of Monessen, a brother, Emidio Carozza and Family of Toronto, Canada, two grandchildren, Jerome Frankie and Tina Frankie, two great grandchildren, Dayne Frankie and Monique Minniti, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Genevra (Picone) Carozza, and by two brothers, Dominick and Nicola Carozza, who died in Italy.Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 26th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. David J. Nazimek officiating.
