Pete Minniti Jr., 77, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 18, 2011 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.He was born in Monessen on March 17, 1934, the son of the late Pietro and Anna Minniti. Pete was a life long resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Pete was a retired machinist, having worked at the former Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Marines.Pete enjoyed playing games, listening to music and spending time with his loving family.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Concetta "Connie" (Sagona) Minniti, his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Joseph Gigliotti of Monessen, five grandchildren, Allysa, Mariea, and Joey Gigliotti, Pete Joseph Minniti, and Erica (Craig) Babich, three great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Anita Reda of Monessen, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Demetri and Gerry Minniti, and Richard and Renee Minniti, all of Monessen, a sister, Philomena Sala of Donora, brother-in-law Andrew Sagona and sister-in-law Mary Minniti, both of Belle Vernon, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Pete Minniti III, two brothers, Joseph and John Minniti, a sister-in-law Rosalind Sagona and a brother-in-law Russell Sagona.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, beginning with a 11:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 12:00 pm Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
