Pasquale "Patsy" S. Martucci, 74, of Monessen, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Monessen on September 25, 1933, the son of the late Alfano and Rose Petrancosta Martucci.Mr. Martucci was a life long resident of Monessen, a 1951 graduate of Monessen High School, and received his bachelor and masters degree in Music/Music Education from Duquesne University. He was a retired teacher and Music Director from the Chartiers Valley School District. Patsy was a founding member of the Italian Orchestra, having played his accordion in Italian Festivals throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. Following retirement, he worked as an attendant at the Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home, and the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. Patsy was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and its Holy Name Society, having been named Father of the Year in 2003. He served as Chior Director at the church up until 2001. He was a member and past secretary of the Monessen Lions Club, having received the Pennsylvania Foundation Fellow Award in 2002. Mr. Martucci was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 954 in Monessen and the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity, Psi Chapter. Patsy served his country during peacetime with the U.S. Army in Germany, becoming a member of the Army Band.He is survived by his wife of fortyone years, Claudia Pantaleo Martucci, two daughters and sons-in-law, Carmela and Dan Coldren of Perryopolis, Anita and Konstantin Aronov of Philadelphia, two grandchildren, Gina and Dominic Coldren, a sister, Rosalie Pilliterri of Pittsburgh, brother-in-law, Richard Pantaleo and wife Pamela of Monongahela, five nieces and nephews, Christopher Pilliterri, Juliette Courtney and husband William, Katherine, Regina, and Richard Pantaleo, and by a great niece and nephew, Christina and William Courtney.Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Friday, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery, Monessen. The Monessen Lions Club will meet on Thursday at 7:30 pm, and the Knights of Columbus Council 954 will meet at 8:00 pm in the funeral home, to pay thier respects.
