Nicholas A. Mascetta Jr., 44, of Monessen, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010.He was born in N. Charleroi on May 25, 1966, the son of Irene K. (Peshok) Mascetta, who survives of Monessen, and the late Nicholas A. Mascetta Sr. Nick was a 1984 graduate of Monessen High School, and had worked for World Kitchen in Charleroi before becoming disabled. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, United Steelworkers of America Local 53G, and was a volunteer at the Monessen Food Pantry. He was an avid sports fan of the Pirates and especially the Penguins. He had a kind heart and a warm smile, and would lend a helping hand to those who needed it. Nick lived life to the fullest and was loved by many, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.In addition to his mother, he is survived by five sisters and two brothers; Marilyn Mascetta of Monessen, Carol Shoemaker of Rostraver Twp., Sharon (Randy) Mauck of Monessen, Shirley Mascetta of Monessen, Jonalyn and Greg Bagay of West Newton, Robert (Linda) Mascetta and Frank Mascetta, all of Monessen, seven nieces and nephews, Donald Shoemaker, Jodie Levine, Lisa Mauck, George and Marianne Jackson, Gregory and Nicole Bagay, and his close friend and companion, Caroline Curran and her two sons Justin and Dominic.The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Monessen Food Pantry, 1103 Donner Ave. Monessen, PA 15062.
