Nello A. Tineri

Nello A. Tineri, 89 of Monessen, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was born on September 19, 1927 in Ralph, PA, to the late Amato and Concetta Clausi Tineri. Nello worked with the City of Monessen for many years prior to working with the PA. Department of Transportation until retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Bishop Phelan Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a life member and past Grand Knight of Council 954 Knights of Columbus, longtime member of the Monessen Lions Club, Officer of the Sons of Italy and life member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid. He was a longtime member and Eucharistic Minister of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen, and one of the original founders of the Speers Boat Club. Nello’s love for Monessen was immense, he could always be seen on the sidelines of Monessen High School football games where he was the “ballguy” or at the high school gymnasium taking care of the game clock for the Greyhound basketball team. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Maryann Tineri; 3 loving sons Bob (Verne Knappenberger) Tineri of Lancaster, PA, John (Terri Lesko) Tineri of Lantana, FL, and Tony (Monica Barron) Tineri of Monessen; 5 loving grandchildren Michaelene Tineri, Damian Tineri, R.J. Tineri, Dominic Tineri and Rylee Tineri and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Ernest Tineri, James Tineri, Sue Mendicino and Laura Yelletz. He was a great man and role model for his family, a true friend to anyone who met him and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Catholic. He will be truly missed. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Monday, January 30, 2017, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 618 Knox Ave. Monessen. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
