Nellie (Stefanowicz) Bachinski

Nellie Bachinski, 90, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at her home. She was born on June 20, 1928 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Katherine (Kudlik) Stefanowicz. Mrs. Bachinski was a life long resident of Monessen, a graduate of Monessen High School, and had worked in the selecting and packing department of Corning Glass for many years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, its Sisterhood and sang in the choir. Nellie was an avid gardener and cook, loved to go shopping, and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her granddaughter. Surviving are her husband John Bachinski Jr., son, John (Debbie) Bachinski III; daughter, Doreen (Richard) Todaro; and granddaughter, Kelsey Bachinski, all of Monessen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nicholas Stefanowicz and Walter Stephens, five sisters, Anna Matta, Margaret Brithinee, Olga Mikulsky, Charlotte Grimsley, and Catherine Stefanowicz. Friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 17 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Constantine Curchin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mon Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Donora.
