Michael J. Spadafore

Michael J. Spadafore, 83, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday Dec. 30, 2021in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on January 15, 1938 in N. Charleroi, the son of the late Alfred L. and Ann (Maranich) Spadafore. Mike was a life long resident of Monessen, a 1956 graduate of Monessen High School, and retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Following his retirement he attained his real estate license and sold real estate for several years. He was a member of numerous club through out the Mon Valley and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike served his country as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane M. (Coccari) Spadafore, two daughters, Debra (Brian) Sauritch of Fayette City, Michele Bair of Monessen; step son, James Biondi of Monessen; three grandsons, Robert Novakovich, Gene Bair, Anthony Biondi; great grandson, Aiden Novakovich; three sisters, Nancy Moussiaux, Shirley (Ronald) Novakovich, Jean (James) Matson, two brothers-in-laws, Kevin M. (Cindy) Coccari and Robert (Joni) Coccari; and by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Bellone) Spadafore, his mother and father-in-law, Betty and Robert Coccari, and by a son-in-law Gene Bair. At Mike's request, there will not be any viewing and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
