Michael Kozar, 85, of Monessen, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at his home. He was born in Monessen on August 31, 1929, the son of the late John and Anna Kacmar Kozar. Mike was a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer having belonged to several golf leagues over the years. Mike was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Audia Kozar, two daughters, Rosemary Kozar and Brent King of Baltimore, MD, Monica Kozar of Carnegie, and by five grandchildren, Michaela Kozar-King, Sean Kozar-King, Austin, Evan, and Ethan Pilz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Kozar and a sister Mary Doctor. Friends will be received on in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, with the time and place of service to be announced Friday. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.
