Matthew Canestrale Jr., 52, of Monessen, died Friday, July 15, 2011 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.He was born in N. Charleroi on December 28, 1958, the son of Matthew and Lorraine (Caterino) Canestrale Sr. who survive and reside in Rostraver Twp. Matt grew up in Monessen, attended Monessen Schools, and was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. At the time of his death, Matt was vice president of Matt Canestrale Contracting Inc.In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Lou (Oravec) Canestrale, two daughters, Alyssa and Mia Canestrale of Monessen, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doreen and Alan Dilegge of Rostraver Twp., Darlene Pabis of Rostraver Twp., and by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.Friends will be received on Saturday July 16th from 7 to 9 pm and on Sunday July 17th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
