Mary (Skomsky) Pokol, 76, of Monessen passed away on April 10, 2024, in her home surrounded by her caring family. Born January 22, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Ida (Reda) Skomsky. Mary was a life long resident of Monessen, a 1966 graduate of Monessen High School and a graduate of Douglas School of Business in Monessen. She worked as an executive secretary at Fox Grocery in Rostraver Twp. and years later she worked part-time at Keystone Bakery in Monessen. Mary enjoyed baking, reading mystery novels, watching old-time game shows and sitcoms but her greatest pastime was spent fishing with her husband and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William "Bo" Pokol of Monessen; daughter Kelly Massey and her husband Chris "Tippy" of Perryopolis; son Jason Pokol and his wife Megan (Antonucci) of Monessen; seven grandchildren Morgan (Massey) and husband Tony Lucketti of Speers, Christopher Massey Jr. and girlfriend, Maria Gagetta of Perryopolis, Mackenzie Massey and fiancé Dylan Celaschi of Perryopolis, Brooke Pokol, Buddy Pokol, Bristol Pokol, and Bo Pokol all of Monessen; one great-grandson Levi Lucketti of Speers; her brother Michael (Terree) Skomsky of Monessen; nieces and nephews, and many, many cousins. Anyone who knew Mary knew she always had the last word, her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her family gives a special thank you to UPMC Family Hospice who guided them through this difficult time.
