Mary Vesio Flaherty, 77, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2009 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.She was born in Monessen on January 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Michael and Rose Floro Vesio. Mary was a life long resident of Monessen, a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. She was an avid bowler having belonged to the Four Seasons Bowling League. She worked as a sales clerk at the former Sun Drug in Monessen for over 20 years.She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James E. Flaherty, two daughters and sons-in-law, Christy Jo and John Sweeney of South Huntingdon Twp., Terri Ann and Michael Fisher of Monessen, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Robin Flaherty of Philadelphia, a brother and sister-in-law, Dominick and Dolores Vesio of The Villages, FL, a sister-in-law, Sharon Ramsey of Charleroi, five grandchildren, Catherine DeRose and husband Vincent of Ashville, OH, John Sweeney Jr.of South Huntingdon Twp., and Jamie, Michael, and Eric Fisher, all of Monessen, a great granddaughter, Olivia DeRose, and by nieces and nephews.Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Thursday Jan. 15, 2009, beginning with a 11:30am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 12 noon Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.
