Mary Cvetan, 96, of Athens, Ohio, formerly of Monessen, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Athens.She was born in Monessen on March 23, 1914, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rosa (Moholovich) Zoretich. Mrs. Cvetan was a resident of Monessen, and had been employed as a pastry chef for Johnstons Restaurant for 24 years, retiring in 1964. She had also worked as an insurance agent for the Croatian Fraternal Union for many years. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and its Epiphany Ladies, Croation Fraternal Union Nest 194, Croatian Home, Croatian Ladies Auxillary and Court 776 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George S. Cvetan Jr. and wife Linda of Athens, OH, two grandchildren, Craig and Crystal Cvetan of Hideaway Hills, OH, and Denise and Chad McKibben of Chauncey, OH, seven great grandchildren, Conner, Mackenzie, Brooke, Dakota, and Gavin Cvetan, and, Corey and Cole McKibben, Nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George S. Cvetan in 1998, four brothers, Matthew, Carl, Frank, and Nick Zoretich, and by two sisters Katherine Beck and Lubbie A. Schultheis.Friends will be received on Friday, October 29th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.Court 776 of the Catholic Daughters of the America's will conduct a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Friday in the funeral home.
