Marie A. Valente, 88, formerly of Monesssen, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 the home of her son in Crafton. She was born in Monessen on March 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Guiseppi and Vincenza Faraci Bucci. Marie was a 1946 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Years ago she worked as a clerk at the former Hills Department Store. Marie was active at the Monessen Senior Center. She enjoyed making ceramic items and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Beverly Valente of Crafton, a brother, Joseph (Theresa) Bucci of Elmira, NY, three sisters, Elizabeth Frank of Baltimore, MD, Dolores (Irvine) Becken of Ontario Center, NY, Joyce (James) Cunningham of Lynnwood, a sister-in-law, Helen Bucci of Rostraver Twp., three grandchildren, Jenny Lynn Valente of Coraopolis, Lisa Ann (Carl) Smith of Crafton, Joseph (Melanie) Valente Jr. of Brentwood, five great grandchildren, Michael Acheson, Reece Smith, Tommy, Gregory, and Alyssa Valente, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by her husband Domenick S. Valente, a daughter Annette Louise Valente, and by two brothers, Guy and Michael Bucci. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. The family suggests memorials contributions in memory of Marie be made to the Epiphany Church or the Monessen Senior Center.
