Marie Rose (Greco) Scaccia, 85, of Monessen, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Rehab Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh, in Greensburg, following a lengthy illness.She was born in Donora on September 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Luagina (Setting) Greco. Mrs. Scaccia grew up in Monessen, was a graduate of Monessen High School, and a graduate of Robert Morris Business School. She worked as a seamstress at the former Charland Sportswear in Speers for many years. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, the former St. Cajetan Rosary Altar Society and Italian Society of Mutual Aid. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a women of faith, an avid Steelers fan, had a great sense of humor, and was always pleasant to be around.She is survived by a son, Joseph Scaccia of Monessen, her daughter and son-in-law, Toni and John Orsino of North Huntingdon Twp., a son-in-law, Rick Patton of Cross Lanes, WV, seven grandchildren, Rick Patton Jr., Lindsay, Justin, Cameron and Aaron Scaccia, Dominic and Anthony Orsino, a brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Marsha Greco of Belle Vernon, a sister-in-law, Concetta Miceli of Monessen, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Giuseppi Scaccia, a daughter Rose Marie (Scaccia) Patton, and by two brothers, Ralph and James Greco.Friends will be received on Friday Feb. 25th from 4 to 8 pm. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
