March 26, 1937 — November 10, 2024

Maria (Mary) Addolorata Grano, 87, a beloved mother, of Youngwood, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Westmoreland Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1937 in Matino, Italy the daughter of the late Gino and Maria (Zompi) Marsano of Matino, Italy. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, the Former St. Cajetan’s Church and its Christian Mothers. Her story began in Italy, where Frank fell in love with her beautiful eyes. They met, fell in love, and were married before she journeyed to the United States in 1957. Maria worked as a talented seamstress at Magura and Donora Sportswear. She was the best "Ma" and "Nana" who filled her family’s lives with warmth, laughter, and love. Maria had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and an unmatched loyalty as a friend. She delighted everyone with her Italian jokes. From her garden to her kitchen-where she made the best sauce-to her espresso and casino trips with her children, Maria brought joy to all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her three grandsons. She instilled morals which can be seen in their character as fine young men today. She is survived by her, daughter, Anita (Thomas) Vivio of Youngwood; son, Michael (Tina) Grano of Monessen; three grandsons, Salvatore (Chelsea) Vivio of Greensburg, Anthony Vivio of Youngwood, Michael Grano, Jr. of Monessen; great granddaughter, Emma Marie Vivio; brother, Rocco Marsano; sister, Sister Carmina Marsano. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Grano and brothers, Salvatore, Antonio, Cosimo Marsano. Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Entombment was in the Mon Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Donora. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
