Maria DiPiazza, 80, of Monessen, died Sunday May 29, 2016 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born on December 11, 1935 in Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca (DiPasquale) DiPiazza. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, the former St. Cajetan Christian Mothers and the Italian Society of Mutual Aid Her passions in life were her family and cooking. She worked as a cook at LaEda's Restaurant and the New Alpine Club Restaurant in Monessen. Surviving are her four sisters, Rosalie Bertola of Monessen, Carmelea Sangiorgi of Totowa, NJ, Elena (Anthony) Morello of Monessen; Concetta DiPiazza of Monessen, two brothers, Luigi (Concetta) DiPiazza of South Hackensack, NJ, and Charlie (Maria) DiPiazza of Greensburg, a sister-in-law Anna Maria DiPiazza of Monessen, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Giuseppe DiPiazza, a nephew Sam Bertola, and two brother-in-laws Chris Bertola and Raffaele Sangiorgi. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday beginning with a 12:00 pm Blessing service in the funeral home followed by a 12:30 pm Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Rev. Michael J.
