Madeline I. Billy, 85, of Monessen, died Monday March 21, 2016 in Mon Valley Care Center.
She was born on July 1, 1930 in Star Junction, the daughter of the late John and Martha (Harris) Jankura.
She was life long resident of Monessen, a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was an accomplished self taught seamstress and baker.
She is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Lisa) Billy of Monessen and David (Julie Lobdell) Billy of Lorton, VA; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Billy of Long Branch, four grandchildren, Brian John Billy, Marie (Edwin) Peters, Alexander and Sean Billy, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Billy, two sons, John R. and Jeffrey Billy, and by four sisters, Ann Martin, Helen Rebovich, Martha Puleo, and Dorothy Pidich, and an infant brother Edward.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday March 24, 2016 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Fr. Michael J. Crookston officiating.
Interment will follow in the Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen.
