Louise Jean Porreca, 95, formerly of Monessen, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 in Mon Valley Care Center.
She was born in Tuccio, Italy on March 18, 1918, the daughter of the late Raffeal Pietrangeli and Maria D'Inncenzo Pietrangeli. Mrs. Porreca was a 1938 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, its Epiphany Ladies and the former St. Cajetan Church. She was also a member of the Italian-American Heritage Society.
She is survived by two sons , C. James Porreca of Belle Vernon, Robert (Stephanie) Porreca of Columbus, OH, a daughter, Lynette (Ralph) Rieu of Union Hall, VA, one grandson, seven granddaughters, four great grandchildren and by nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claudio A. Porreca in 1994, and by her sister, Orlena D'Angelo in May of 2013.
Friends will be received on Tuesday Aug. 20, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, beginning with
9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Monessen Meals on Wheels, 1124 Dennis Ave. Monessen, PA 15062. The Epiphany Ladies will conduct a prayer service on Tuesday at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
