Leonora (Sala) Poletini, 88, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.She was born in Donora on May 6, 1922, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Albina (Polo) Sala. Leonora grew up in Donora and was a 1940 graduate of Donora High School. She resided in Donora and Monessen, and was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Leonora was an active person and an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.She is survived by three children, Patrice (Edward) Alfaro of Amarillo, TX, Eugene (Pamela Jordan) Poletini of Pittsburgh, Joseph (Lorranie) Poletini of Greensburg, four grandchildren, Jamie Hickson, Justin Able, Ashley Poletini, and Kylie Alfaro, three great grandchildren, and by nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Poletini, two brothers Aldo and Dante Sala, and by a sister Antoinette DeZardo.Friends will be received on Friday Jan. 28, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011, beginning with a9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church Chapel, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen.
