Julia A. Krivacek, 89, of Monessen, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at her home.
She was born in Monessen on October 7, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Barbara Mesko Onda. Mrs. Krivacek was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the former Most Holy Name of Jesus Church and its Christian Mothers. She worked for Donora Sportswear, retiring in 1986. In addition to her family, her passions were for cooking, baking and bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen B. Shawley, with whom she made her home, two sons, Steven Krivacek of Sidney, OH, Gregory (Carol) Krivacek of Gibsonia, four grandchildren, Ryan Krivacek, Katharine (Chanse) Walker, Laura and Sara Krivacek, two great granddaughters, Khloe and Konley Walker, a brother, Michael (Patricia) Onda of Belle Vernon, two sisters, Margaret Marek of Belle Vernon, Mary Vivian of Carlisle, and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her family she will be deeply missed by her two kitties, Jay and Stevie, who brought her so much joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Steve Krivacek, two brothers, John and Andrew Onda, and by two sisters Barbara Parks and Anna Miller.
Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Wednesday from 2:00 until 7:00 pm. Services will be held on Thursday Nov. 21, 2013, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen. Memorial donations/contributions may be made to Lock 4 Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
