J. Pat Dodaro, 83, of Monessen, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc..He was born in Monessen on April 4, 1926, the son of the late John and Teresa Altemare Dodaro. Pat was a life long resident of Monessen, a 1944 graduate of Monessen High School, a 1951 graduate of Penn State University, and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, its chior and Holy Name Society. He was an active person and life member of Seven Springs Ski Patrol, Mon Valley Ski Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 954, V.F.W. Post 1190, Sons of Italy, and Speers Boat Club. He had worked in Marketing and Communications for Southwestern Pennsylvaina Human Services (SPHS). Pat was a veteran of WW II, having served with the Army Air Corp.Survivors include his two sisters, Jean Stark and Evelyn Kowell, both of Monessen, his nephew Bob Stark and wife Cathy, and niece Paula Kowell, all of Monessen, great nephews, Jonathan and Brandon Stark, and his life long companion, Hariett Kistler of Bethel Park.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by by two brothers-in-law, Paul Kowell and Robert Stark III..Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Friday July 17, 2009, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The following services will be held on Thursday evening in the funeral home: V.F.W.
