Joseph "Jumbo" Fuoco Jr., 82, of Monessen, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Twp.He was born in Monessen on June 18, 1928, the son of the late Joseph Fuoco Sr. and Rally Leone Fuoco. Jumbo was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 28, and Italian Society of Mutual Aid, having served as Steward for 30 years. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. having worked as a air condition technician in the electrical shop.He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith (Fontanelli) Fuoco, a brother, Samuel R. Fuoco of Monessen, two nieces, JoAnn (Paul) Propcheck of Duncansville, Carol (Chuck) Roman of Bentleyville, three great nephews, Chuck, Chase, and Clay Roman, and by his favorite cat, Sadie Lou.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Caryn Alicia Fuoco in 2008, and by a brother Edward Fuoco.Friends will be received on Friday July 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Please note: the Reed Ave. viaduct is closed.Services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church.
