John R. "Lefty" Pallini Sr.

John R. "Lefty" Pallini Sr., 94, of Monessen, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Mon Valley Care Center.He was born in Monessen on May 5, 1915, the son of the late Angelo and Palma Martinelli Pallini.Lefty was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1933 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, Knights of Columbus Council 954, Eagles Aerie 2399, and the former St. Cajetan Bowling League. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel having worked in the blooming mill.Lefty and Josephine had a wonderful life together, having enjoyed traveling, sporting events, and numerous family picnics and celebrations over the years.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Patricia Pallini Jr. of Monessen, two daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Joseph Dinio of Monessen, Joyce and Bob Zeli of Charleroi, a brother-in-law, John Palmintera of Pittsburgh, six grandchildren, Jona (Ron) Hezar of North Carolina, Jeff (Tina) Pallini of Wisconsin, Jill (Joseph) Shash of Monessen, Ron Aiello of Washington, Rob Zeli of Canonsburg, Ryan Zeli of Pittsburgh, eleven great grandchildren, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Palmintera Pallini, two brothers, James and Joseph Pallini, and by a sister Susan Pallini.Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen. The Knights of Columbus Council 954 will conduct a prayer service on Friday at 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
