John Cieply, 83, of Monessen, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 in UPMC Shadyside.He was born in Monessen on April 11, 1928, the son of the late Teofil and Anna Cieply. John was a life long resident of Monessen, and a 1946 graduate of Monessen High School. Upon graduation, he served two years in the U. S. Army. After returning from the service, John attended school to become a real estate broker, having worked and retired from the former Skirpan Agency in Monessen. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 954, Thomas McKee Post 28 of the American Legion, and the B.P.O.E. 773, all of Monessen. John really enjoyed socializing with his friends, especially at the local convenience store. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Olga "Dolly" (Ellin)Cieply, two sons and daughters-in-law, John M. and Dori (Hrebnar) Cieply of Miami, FL, David A. and Shauna Cieply of Valencia, CA, a daughter and son-in-law, Marcy and Rob Lazzari of Rostraver Twp., a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Loretta Cieply of Monessen, two sisters, Ann Andryc of Rossford, OH, and Mary Malezija of Monessen, nine grandchildren; Ashlee (Alexis) Aleman, Alyson Cieply, Kristina and Robbie Lazarri, Laura Lau, D.J., Lincoln, Luke, and Jake Cieply, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Joseph Cieply.Friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750.)Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.The following services will be held in the funeral home.
