Irene (Makey) Sendek

Irene Sendek, 90, of Monessen, passed away on Sunday June 30, 2019 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born on October 13, 1928 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Pushkar) Makey. Mrs. Sendek was a life long resident of Monessen and a graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and a former member of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church and its Christian Mothers. Mrs. Sendek was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary every day. She was retired from PLCB where she worked as a sales clerk. She is survived by a son, Alan (Pam) Sendek of Perryopolis, a daughter, Karen Sendek of Monessen; four grandchildren, Ryan (Linda) Sendek of Missouri, Erica (Neil) Lyn of Florida, Christopher Ostetrico of Texas, Jennifer (William) Livingston of California; and by two great grandchildren, Noah and Adah Livingston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Sendek, a son Mark Sendek, a daughter Christine Zemko, two sisters Helen Tesley and Anna Mazur, and by her brother Emil Makey. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen on Friday July 5th from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday July 6th beginning with a 9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen.
