Irene (Fayak) Dodaro, 92, formerly of Monessen, died on Sunday Feb 14, 2016 in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. She was born on Sept. 15, 1923 in Monessen, a daughter of the late George and Susanna (Singel) Fayak. She resided in Monessen most all her life and was a 1942 graduate of Monessen High School. Mrs. Dodaro was a devout Catholic and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Epiphany Ladies. She was also a member of the former St. Cajetan Christian Mothers. Mrs. Dodaro was an exceptional cook and baker who loved to spend time with her family. Surviving are her two daughters, Michol (Ronald) Hornack and Mary Dodaro, two grandchildren, Peter (Laurie) Hornack and Kira (Kris) Kent, three great grandchildren, and by her loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry J. Dodaro, an infant daughter, Rene, four brothers, George, Peter, Joseph, and Michael Fayak, five sisters, Anna Bartus, Margaret Mertel, Susan Winchester, Mary Lepore, and Josephine Swansick. Friends will be received on Thursday Feb. 18, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Friday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Epiphany Ladies will hold a Bereavement Service on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the funeral home.
