Hilda Laatu (Hauser) Troth

Hilda Laatu Troth, 92, of Monessen, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Dec. 31, 2020 at her residence. She was born on May 12, 1928 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Joseph Kroeschel and Emma (Chedor) Hauser. Hilda was a resident of Monessen most all her life and was a member of Orchard Christian Fellowship. She had worked at the former Brookvale Clothing Factory for 20 years and at Monongahela Valley Hospital as a nurses aide for ten years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Troth, her twin son and daughter, Leonard Joseph Laatu and Debora Lynn Laatu, a sister Emmie Lou Celaschi, and by two brothers Gus and Fred Hauser. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard (Cheryl) Laatu of West Palm Beach, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and by her dear friends, Melanie Hazelbaker, Lance Johnson, and Faith Davis. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, on Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 7 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Michaelson officiating. She will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Everyone attending the viewing and funeral services are required to wear a face mask and social distance. Only 25 people are permitted in the funeral home at a time.
