Henry V. D'Alonzo, 92, of Monessen, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown.He was born in Greensburg on October 26, 1918, the son of the late James and Annadea (Bucci) D'Alonzo. Mr. D'Alonzo was a 1938 graduate of Monessen High School, and he and his family had owned and operated the former Monessen Radio and Television appliance store for many years. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and its Holy Name Society; Knights of Columbus Council 954 having served as Grand Knight, Financial Secretary, and Trustee; past District Deputy and a member of the 4th Degree Bishop Phelan Assembly; V.F.W. Post 1190; American Legion Post 28; Italian Society of Mutual Aid; Sons of Italy; and Elks Lodge 773. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Navy as a radio technician first class.He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Daugherty of Monessen, two granddaughters, Amy Marie (Keith) Olin of Laurel, MD, Jill Elizabeth (David) Mikula of Fayetteville, NC, four great grandchildren, Jacob and Annadea Mikula, and Sienna and Cameron Olin, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Mary Ann (Todaro) D'Alonzo who died on July 31, 2010, a son-in-law Robert N. Daugherty, and by a sister Mary B. D'Alonzo.Friends will be received on Tuesday Nov. 23rd, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24th. beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Monessen.The following services will be held on Tuesday evening in the funeral home: Knights of Columbus #954 at 6:30 pm, V.F.W.
