Helen M. Vivio, 92, of Monessen, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born on April 10, 1925 in New Eagle, PA, the daughter of the late John and Ann (Roman) Petrisin. Helen grew up in Donora and was a 1943 graduate of Donora High School. She received her license as a registered nurse at Braddock General Nursing Hospital and worked at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital for many years. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen. Helen loved working outdoors, especially painting and landscaping, and was a creative decorator. She was also known as the neighborhood nurse, always ready to lend a hand when someone was in need.
She is survived by her three sons, David (Tammy) Vivio of Cecil Twp., Ronald (Michelle) Vivio of Carroll Twp., Jeffrey (Joyce) Vivio of Monessen, sister-in-law, Millie Petrisin of Clairton, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. "Moose" Vivio, brother Jerome Petrisin, and sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Harold Greeban.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monesen, with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
