Helen (Ciak) Trach, 88 of Belle Vernon, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, MD. Born in Maly Sokol, Poland on September 5, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Franciszek and Roza Ciak. Helen, her husband and son immigrated from Germany in 1949 and settled in Monessen. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitch, knitting and crocheting. She received many awards for her beautiful afghans and tablecloths. Helen was a member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Monessen. She is survived by 3 sons, Walter (Cathleen) Trach of Brooklyn Park, MN, John S. (Lizanne DeStefano) Trach of Champaign, IL, and Stefan O. (Katherine) Trach of Rockville, MD; a daughter, Luba K. (Bogdan) Vujcic of Rockville, MD; and 10 grandchildren, Michele, Suzanne, Walter Jr., Nicole, Juliana, Nikola, Natasha, Larisa, Sara and Douglas. Helen has 3 brothers, Jozef, Jan and Widzek; and 3 sisters Stella, Julia and Zofia who remained in Poland and did not immigrate to the US.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan Trach in 1999. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen (724-684-8750).A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 17 Reed Avenue, Monessen with the Very Rev.
