Helen Macko, 87, of Monessen, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Westmoreland Manor.She was born in Monessen on August 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Metro and Rose (Kanar) Stankovich. Mrs. Macko was a life long resident of Monessen, and a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. She had worked for Corning Glass in Charleroi many years ago, and more recently attended Acorn Adult Day Care Center in Monessen.She is survived by three daughters, Rose Falbo and husband Joseph of Charleroi, Carol Ann Macko Brown of Monessen, Andrea Macko of Monessen, a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Jackie Macko of Severna Park, MD, two sisters, Julia Andrako of New Port Richie, FL, Irene Kowalski and husband Chester of Monessen, three grandchildren, Nicole Falbo of Pittsburgh, Melissa and Tom Zupan of Monessen, Kenneth Macko of Severna Park, MD, a great grandson, Tommy Zupan of Monessen, and by nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Macko in 1993, two brothers, Peter and Charles Stankovich, a sister Elizabeth Macko, and her son-in-law, Wallace Brown.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 20th, beginning with a 10:00 am Panachida in the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 am Divine Liturgy in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.
