Helen (Rapsack) Francia

Helen (Rapsack) Francia, 92, of Monessen, passed away on Sunday Sept. 9, 2018 in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on December 6, 1925 in Tidioute, PA, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Selestak) Rapsack Sr. Mrs. Francia lived in Monessen most of her life, was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church and a former member of the St. Cajetan Christian Mothers.  Mrs. Francia had worked at the former Magura and Brookvale Clothing factories. She enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling, cooking and baking. Surviving are three children, Dr. Arthur J. Francia of Houston, TX, Jeffrey (Connie) Francia of Monessen, Barbara (William) Saxberg of West Newton; nine grandchildren, Arthur (Joyce) Francia, Sharon Francia, Lisa Francia, Jodi (Dan) Garzarelli, Michele (Scott) Antonio, Camille (Chris) Zozula, Jessica (Frank) Rapsky, Elizabeth Francia, and Jeffrey Francia; sixteen great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Francia in 1975, a son Gerald Francia in 2018, and by three brothers, William Sr., Nicholas, and John Rapsack. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen.
