Helen V. (Zywicki) Alessio

Helen V. Alessio, 92, of Monessen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 16, 2018 in Mon Valley Care Center. She was born on May 19, 1925 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Szverben) Zywicki. Helen was a life long resident of Monessen, a graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church. She was retired from Donora Sportswear, where she worked as a Presser. Helen loved to go to polka dances, was an excellent baker, and enjoyed playing bingo at Mon Valley Care Center. She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn A. (Elmer) Gagatko of Monessen, Janet (Jerry) Radacsy of The Villages, FL; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lauren) Gagatko of McMurry, Cara (John) Cortes of Upper St. Clair, three great grandchildren, Bryce and Charlotte Gagatko, Emmy Cortes; a brother, Chester Zywicki of The Villages, FL; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Alessio, three brothers, Henry and Edward Zywicki, Henry Zywicki Jr., and by a sister Jane Czelen. Friends will be received on Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen, with Rev.
