Harry E. Malone Jr., 81, of Monessen, died Monday September 8, 2008 in Mountainview Specialty Care Center, Unity Twp.He was born in Monessen on June 5, 1927, the son of the late Harry E. Malone Sr. and Helen Isenberg Malone. Harry was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1945 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Mon Valley Chordsmen. He retired from the Monessen Southwestern Railroad as a supervisor. Mr. Malone served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy on the USS AWS Benson and USS Gainard.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce D. and Elizabeth Malone of Rostraver Twp, his daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Michael Rogers of Catlettsburg, KY, two grandsons, Jimmy Lee and John Rogers, a by nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Walters Malone, and by a brother Howard Malone.Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Friday Sept. 12, 2008, at10:00 am in the funeral home.
