Gustave "Gus" Kalamotousis, 82, of Monessen, died Saturday May 28, 2016 at the Residence at Hilltop. He was born on March 21, 1934 in Monessen, the son of the late James and Anna (Sudor) Kalamotousis. Gus was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1952 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and had coached the youth basketball team for the church. Gus enjoyed duck pin bowling years ago and loved spending time and playing basketball with his grandsons. Gus was an electrician in the coke plant for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and retired when they closed. He then went on to work for Sharon Steel and Koppers Industries also in the coke plant. He is survived by his wife Stella (Seftas) Kalamotousis, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 27, 2016, two daughters, Vicki (husband Mark) Yawornicky and Stacey (husband Frank) Mayolo, both of Virginia, two grandsons, Ryan and Michael Mayolo; a sister, Clara Kalamotousis of Monessen, brother-in-law, Ted Collins of Monessen; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Kalamotousis. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Demetrios Gardikes officiating. (Everyone is to meet at the church). Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. A Trisagion Service will be held Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to either St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 117 St. Spyridon Lane Monessen, PA 15062, or the Monessen Meals on Wheels Program, 1124 Dennis Ave. Monessen, PA 15062.
