George Pavlo, 70, of Monessen, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Van Vorhis on January 10, 1941, the son of the late Mike and Helen (Slavic) Pavlo. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, Ukrainian Club, Hilltop Firemen's Club, Croatian Club, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, all in Monessen, the American Legion Post 659 in Belle Vernon and the Naomi Club. He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., having worked as a electrician.He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army in Germany.He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Trozzo) Pavlo, two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Pavlo of Nottingham Twp., and Margaret Sulka of Monongahela, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Pavlo, a brother Michael Pavlo, and by a niece Joann Luckasevic.Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011, beginning with a 11:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 12 noon Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
