George Komlos, 93, formerly of Monessen, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 in Southwestern Assisted Living, Jefferson Hills.He was born in Monessen, on October 29, 1913, the son of the late Andrew and Helen Garber Komlos.Mr. Komlos lived in Monessen most of his life, and was retired from American Chain and Cable Company, having worked at the Pages Division in Monessen. He also owned and operated an Amoco Service Station at 10th and Donner Ave. in Monessen for 25 years. He was a member of St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church, MARS (Mon Valley Assoc. of Retired Steelworkers) and the V.F.W. Post 1190, all in Monessen. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army in Co. "B" 713th MP Battalion. He is survived by his sister, Olga Shipitz of Belle Vernon, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Mike, Emil, John, and Andy Komlos.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with Rev. Rumen Stkoychev officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. A Parastas service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the funeral home.
