Fred L. Fal Jr.

Fred L. Fal Jr., 46, of Monessen, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with leukemia.He was born in N. Charleroi on November 11, 1961, the son of Fred and Doris Bonadio Fal Sr., who survive of Monessen. Fred was a 1980 graduate of Monessen High School, and was a Gulf War veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He had been employed by the City of Monessen having worked in the Street Department. Fred was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams, the Penguins and the Steelers. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and enjoyed going mountain bike riding and lifting weights.He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Diane Dalfonso Fal, two daughters, Chelsey and Camrynn Fal, three sisters, Joanne Joseph of Belle Vernon, Laurette Legg and husband Donnie of Milford, DE, Lou Ann Destefano of Monessen, mother-in-law, Elizabeth "Babs" Dalfonso of Monessen, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and by numerous nieces and nephews.Fred was preceded in death by his son, Camren M. Fal in 1994, his paternal grandparents, Michael and Bertha Fal, maternal grandparents Louis and Angeline Bonadio, a brother-in-law Jon Joseph, and his father-in-law Thomas P. Dalfonso.Visitation for extended family will on Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm and visitation for the public will be on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm, in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen,(724-684-8750). Funeral services will be held on Friday Sept. 5, 2008, begining with a 9:30 am Blessing at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen.
