Frank R. Vitale, 88, of Monessen, died Monday, June 18, 2012 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center.He was born in Webster on November 9, 1923, the son of the late Ralph and Flora Ann Lorenzo Vitale. Mr. Vitale grew up in Webster and was a 1941 graduate of Rostraver High School. He moved to Monessen when he married his late wife, Anne E. Trozzo Vitale. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Sons of Italy, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, all of Monessen, and 52 year member of American Legion Post 659 in Belle Vernon. He retired with 40 years of service from the Irvin Works of U.S. Steel, having worked as a mobile equipment mechanic. Mr. Vitale was a WW II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence "Larry" and Sharon Vitale of Monessen, Richard F. and Roberta Vitale of Rostraver Twp., a brother, Thomas (Lois) Vitale of Rostraver Twp., three sisters, Sarah (William) Overton of Rostraver Twp., Mary Neupaver of Lynnwood, Rose Vitale of Webster, a sister-in-law, Louise Vitale of Donora, six grandchildren, Richard F. (Erin) Vitale Jr. of Washington , Brian and Scott Vitale, both of Monessen, Justin Vitale of Noblesville, IN, Jacque (David) Dellipoali of Plainfield, NJ, Kelly Casoni of Rostraver Twp., eight great grandchildren, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a infant daughter, Flora Ann Vitale, and by two brothers, John and Alan Vitale.Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
