Frank Spina, 76, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 17, 2009 in his residence.He was born in Italy on April 21, 1933, the son of the late John and Josephine DeRosa Spina. Frank came to the Mon Valley in 1950, and began his 60 year career as a baker. During that time Frank baked for the former Friendly Bakery in Monongahela, former Vivio's Bakery and Valdiserri's Bakery in Monessen, and Keystone Bakery of Monessen. Frank moved to Monessen when he married his wife of 50 years, Carol McQuillis Spina. Frank enjoyed gardening, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, having loved to spend time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Charles Snyder, and Maria and Lawrence Altobelli, all of Rostraver Twp., four grandchildren, Chas and Kristina Snyder, Lauren and Jessica Altobelli, also of Rostraver Twp., two brothers, Guido Spina, Antonio Spina and wife Maria, all of Toronto, Canada, and by nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Gennaro, and Vincent Spina.Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Monday Dec. 21, 2009, at11:00 am in the funeral home, with Rev.
