Elena Morello, 69, of Monessen, died Wednesday April 19, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1947 in Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca (DiPasquale) DiPiazza. Elena grew up in Italy where she received her degree in education. She came to the United States and settled in Monessen in 1966. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Anthony Morello, two brothers, Luigi (Concetta) DiPiazza of South Hackensack, NJ, Calogero (Maria) DiPiazza of Greensburg; three sisters, Rosalia Bertola of Monessen, Carmela Sangiorgi of Totowa, NJ, Concetta DiPiazza of Monessen; a sister-in-law, Anna Marie DiPiazza of Monessen; and by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Giuseppe DiPiazza, a sister Maria DiPiazza, nephew Sam Bertola, brothers-in-law Chris Bertola and Raffaele Sangiorgi, and her mother and father-in-law, Anthony and Maria Morello. Friends will be received on Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating.
